Participants can visit Mikhailovsky Castle on their own with their badge. The castle, also known as Engineer’s Castle, is a former imperial palace in the centre of St. Petersburg located at 2, Ulitsa Sadovaya.
The castle was built based on the orders of Emperor Paul I in the late 18th and early 19th centuries in the style of romantic classicism as a “castle on the water”.

The exhibition at the Catherine Palace Museum covers the over 300-year history of this outstanding monument and tells about the creativity of the architects who took part in its construction and decoration in the 18–19th centuries, as well as the achievements of the restorers who revived the Palace after the Great Patriotic War.
The Catherine Palace is a wonderful example of Russian baroque, amazing visitors with the luxurious furnishings of the Great Hall and the golden succession of grand reception rooms. These include the world-renowned Amber Room, which has been given new life.

The State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg is one of the largest historical museums in Russia. The museum’s collection contains more than 1.3 million exhibits that document the history of the city on the Neva from its foundation to the present day. The museum is based at the Peter and Paul Fortress and also has several branches: the Rumyantsev Mansion on the English Embankment, the Alexander Blok Apartment Museum, the Sergey Kirov Museum, the Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad Museum on Victory Square, the Printing Museum, the Museum of St. Petersburg Avant-Garde (Matyushin House), and the Oreshek Fortress.

The St. Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Musical Art includes five museums in historical buildings of St. Petersburg: Sheremetev Palace, the Museum of Music, the Theatre Museum, the Rimsky-Korsakov Museum, and the Actors Samoilovs’ Museum. The museum’s collections contain almost half a million exhibits depicting the 250-year history of Russian theatre and music: collections of musical instruments, stage costumes from the Wardrobe of the Imperial Theatres, painted portraits of actors, sketches of scenery and costumes, unique photographs, and rare books.

The Manege Central Exhibition Hall currently has a historical and documentary project dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition ‘Great Country – Great Victory. 1941–1945’ is dedicated to the feats of home front workers and tells about the heroic work of millions of people whose efforts and sacrifices are inseparable from the achievements of the army. The project explores the challenges that the Soviet Union faced during the war, shows what life was like during the hardships of wartime, and documents the significant contribution that home front workers made to the victory.

Tour of the Inside an Antique Camera exhibition ROSPHOTO State Museum and Exhibition Centre (35, Ulitsa Bolshaya Morskaya)

This multimedia exhibition provides an entertaining introduction to the technical side of photography. It presents early optical inventions, such as the camera obscura and rare cameras from the museum’s collection. During the tour, participants will learn what VR glasses looked like in the 19th century, why a camera needs fur, what autochrome is, and lots of other interesting photography-related stories. At the end of the tour, you can take pictures in a style that imitates old printing techniques and then download them to your phone.
